Established in 1947, operational in Hong Kong since 1982, AFS Intercultural Exchanges is a non-profit, volunteer-based, educational organisation offering exchanges among more than 50 countries around the world. More than 270,000 young people world-wide have participated in an AFS programme since its founding.
Opportunities for language learning, cultural
immersion, new friendships and personal growth are core to the AFS experience.
AFS is funded by participant fees and corporate, foundation, and individual contributions. Thanks to these AFS is able to keep its fees low and thus ensure the socio-economic diversity of its participants. The AFS world-wide network has annual revenues exceeding USD 65 million.
