AFS has the longest tradition as a volunteer organization. That say a lot about the commitment of AFS volunteers, and we are proud of the strong staff-volunteer partnership we have forged. This global partnership enables more Hong Kong students and international students to benefit from an AFS international educational exchange experience.

Through your involvement with AFS, you will meet people who share your interest in "thinking globally, acting locally." You will have opportunities to expand your skills and your network , explore leadership opportunities within your new AFS community, and through it all have fun and build relationships that will become an important part of your life.

There are many ways you can help AFS with your volunteer time! Some of the activities and projects volunteers do for AFS include acting as a representative for AFS in your school or community, making school presentations, interviewing students and/or potential host families, coordinating mailings, producing a local volunteer newsletter, helping organize functional events, helping plan and organizing activities for hosted students and sending students, serving as a friendly contact for AFS students hosted in the community and, once you have a chance to learn more about how AFS functions, opportunities for leadership roles.
